Welcome back to our series: Fiix Customer Voices! In these posts, we’ll be showcasing CMMS and maintenance stories from Fiix users just like you. Discover how other Fiixers are leveraging Fiix CMMS and driving real results in their maintenance programs.

If you haven’t seen last week’s story with Marc from Westrock Coffee, check it out here:

MI Windows and Doors is a leading manufacturer with 14 facilities across the U.S., known for delivering worry-free windows and patio doors with exceptional craftsmanship. But behind the scenes, their maintenance team faced a familiar challenge: reactive processes and no effective way to track assets or activities.

To change that, Inventory Control Coordinator David Brown and Maintenance Supervisor Rex Dailey led the charge in implementing Fiix CMMS to bring proactive maintenance, inventory visibility, and cross-site collaboration to life.

Don’t have time for a video? Here’s the MI Windows and Doors story at a glance.

Challenges

  • Reactive maintenance: The team lacked a system to anticipate failures, often responding only after breakdowns occurred.

  • Limited asset tracking: Without a centralized platform, it was difficult to monitor equipment, schedule work, or manage inventory.

  • Productivity pressure: Downtime and inefficiencies were impacting output across multiple facilities, demanding a smarter approach.

Solution

  • Fiix CMMS rollout: The team implemented Fiix across sites, enabling preventive maintenance, inventory tracking, and mobile access.

  • Training for all: Rex Dailey led hands-on training for technicians, supervisors, and assistants to ensure confident adoption.

  • Defined goals: The team clarified their “why”: preventing failures, improving inventory visibility, and optimizing shift gaps for maintenance.

Results

  • Proactive operations: Maintenance shifted from reactive to preventive, helping the team stay ahead of potential failures.

  • Reduced downtime: Faster procurement and better inventory tracking across facilities led to fewer delays and higher productivity.

  • Future-ready: With Fiix in place, MI Windows and Doors is exploring IoT integrations to push predictive maintenance even further.

MI Windows and Doors’ journey shows how the right tools and training can transform maintenance operations.

We hope this post inspires you to get crystal clear on your goals and help your team reach the next level 💎
